A MARRIAGE CARNIVAL TO REMEMBER

Saturdays 12th and 19th November, 2022, were the traditional and church wedding ceremonies respectively, between Bar Osilama Mike Ozekhome, son of fiery constitutional lawyer and human rights Activist, Chief Mike Ozekhome and Bar Theodora Ngozi Onyechi, daughter of founder of Abuja Clinics in Abuja. What was expected to be just wedding events turned out to be carnivals and celebration of life of some sort, with much to thank God for. From the traditional wedding at the bride’s parenths’ home in Maitama, Abuja, to the church service at Church of Assumption, Asokoro, Abuja, and finally to the reception arena at Rainbow Marquee Centre, Abuja,the creme-de-la-creme of the Nigerian society were present.

At the traditional wedding, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan led other top Nigerians like Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, former Governor of Edo State; Chief Mike, former Chief of Staff to the President; Senator Uba Sani;Alhaji Balarabe Abass ( Secretary to the Kaduna State Government), former Nigerian Envoy to South Africa and Venezuela,Ambassador Martin Cobhan ,etc. At the church wedding, the over 16 Priests and clergy were led by the Arch Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Benin, His Grace, Archbishop (Dr) Anthony Akubueze.
The Edo state Governor, Godwin Obaseki led the pack of serving and past Governors. These included Prof. Ben Ayade,Governor of Cross River, Governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba state; former Governor of Cross River State, Chief Clement Ebri; former Governor of Imo State, Chief Achike Udenwa; his former Imo State counterparts, Ikedi Ohakim,Senator Owelle Okorocha; former Rivers State Governor, Celestine Omehia; former Anambra State Governor and Minister of Labour, Dr Chris Ngige; and Governor Ugwuanyi of Enugu State who was represented by his SSG, Prof Ortuanya Senator Ben Obi, Senator Mathew Urhoghide; Mr S.T. Sariedinne; Mr Ramchanda; Senator Francis Alimhikhena’s wife, Chief Monica, equally graced the events.

The reception proper was chaired by former Nigerian president, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan,who was accompanied by his vivacious wife, Dame Patience Jonathan. Also gracing the wedding was the former Vice president of Nigeria and 2023 PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar,GCON and his wife, Alhajia Titi Abubakar. Former governor of Bauchi state, Dr. Adamu Mua’zu, Deputy Gov. of Edo State, Comrade Philip Shuaibu and a host of political heavyweights were there.
There were over 35 learned silks ( SANs) of the noble law profession,led by NBA President, Yakubu Maikyiau, Joe Gadzama,SAN, the Awomolos,SAN,Chris Uche, SAN, etc.

The Royal Fathers were led by the Obi of Onitsha, HRM Agbogidi Nnaemeka Achebe, Others were HRM Deke Khanoba, the Egiegba of Ekperi, HRH I’ma Ima of Somorika, HRH Etokhana the Oghie Avhianwu of Avhianwu. Chief Oseni Elamah represented the Oba of Benin, HRM, oba Ewuare 11; while HRM the Okumagbe of Uvhanno kingdom was represented by HC Pat Alegieuno and other chiefs. HC Engr Stan Atekhame [ Iyase] represented the Oghie Epa of Weppa.

Other prominent persons present were HC Prof John Ikhimalo and wife ( the Sponsors), SHC Ken Izuagbe, Mr. Tony Itseumah, Mr Paul Izenuwa, President Usagbe club of Nigeria,etc. Many thanks, all.

Security is an issue very dear to the heart of the Senior Advocate of the Masses ( SAM) and over which he is very passionate.
